Perfect Audience Member

Perfect Audience Member Pop music is typically aimed at a mainstream audience. A  mainstream audience likes to stick with what they know; chart music, prime time TV and local nights out. A mainstream audience prefers to stick with what's safe rather than rock the boat.  A mainstream audience member is far more likely to listen to pop music than any other genre of music. Typical pop music conventions such as bright colours, upbeat tone and repetitive lyrics tend to attract these mainstream audience members. Including these typical conventions within my pop music video is how I intend to attract a mainstream audience.

Song Choice

Song Choice Song – 'There For You' by Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan Rationale – Repetitive and catchy. Length – 3 minutes 40 seconds, will need to be edited down to 3 minutes.

Pop Music Video Conventions/ Key Elements to Include

Pop Music Video Conventions Conventions to consider when making a pop music video. Bright and colourful, saturated colour. Upbeat, usually very positive. Characters are lively, active not passive. Key Elements to Include in My Video Upbeat tone, positive feel.   Bright saturated colours, heavy use of primary colours.  Happy characters, positive energy. - Fits with the positive energy of the song.

Bubblegum pop was a significant commercial force force in the late 60's and early 70's. Bubblegum pop was primarily targeted at a preteen audience. The original genre lasted roughly 5 years as the genres preteen fans grew up. However the genre is not completely gone as musicians that grew up with the bubblegum genre created songs that reflected the sunny catchy simplicity of the music. - Teen pop  -  https://www.allmusic.com/style/teen-pop-ma0000002895/songs Teen pop is essentially dance pop, pop and urban ballads that are marketed to Teens. Pop Genre The term "pop" originally represented any music that was popular, even rock could have been considered pop as it was popular but in the late 1960's pop and rock became increasingly different from each other. Pop music is electric and often borrows from other genres of music such as; urban, dance, country and sometimes rock. There are elements that define "pop" such as pop songs being short to medium length and using a very heavy amount of repetition. The main aim of pop music is to try and appeal to a general audience. They do this through their mainstream style, with a simple and repetitive structure.
